Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole
A hearty, family-friendly comfort dish made with seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and plenty of melted cheese.

1 lb ground beef
4–5 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
½ cup milk
1½–2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp paprika (optional)
½ tsp dried parsley (optional)
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
🔥 Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
Sauté onion until soft (about 3–4 minutes).
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Cook until browned; drain excess grease.
Prepare the sauce
In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
Layer the casserole
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
Add half of the beef mixture.
Pour some soup mixture over top.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Repeat layers, finishing with cheese on top.
Bake
Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
Rest & Serve
Let sit 10 minutes before serving.
